Artist Statement

I have been painting and drawing since childhood, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from Wayne State University and taking graduate classes in drawing and painting at Central Michigan University along with working with artists whose work I admire. My artistic expression has evolved over the years and I have found that the story I tell with each piece has become more important. I work both on location and in the studio in creating my artwork. I am an active artist currently working out of my home studio in Spring Lake, Michigan and exhibiting my art extensively throughout the state. I love to draw and paint and I especially enjoy figure and nature. I strive for authenticity in my work, aspiring to produce heartfelt drawings and paintings that will engage the audience. I hope that viewers will experience the same passion and awe I have for the world around us when they look at my work.
